Tom Hardy May Still Return to ‘Mobland’ Despite “Career Suicide” On-Set Behavior
Despite reports of Tom Hardy’s difficult on-set behavior, including spending "hours at a time" in his trailer, a source indicates his potential return to ‘Mobland’ remains open.

Tom Hardy could still continue as the star of Mobland despite headlines emerging that he had been fired for his on-set behaviour.

A big hit for streamer Paramount+ when it was released last year, the series stars Hardy as a “fixer” for the powerful Harrigan crime family, led by married couple Conrad and Maeve ( Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren ). The series had been shooting its second season when it ran into trouble thanks the on-set behaviour of Hardy, which led to reports that he had been fired once filming had wrapped.
An investigation by The Hollywood Reporter has looked further into the situation. It states that the actor has been clashing with producers, with the reason believed to be the delay in confirming the show’s third season, alongside previous rumours that he had been trying to alter pages of the script.
“He refused to come out of his trailer for hours at a time,” an unnamed source told the outlet. “He kept the cast waiting, [which is] a power play. Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager.” Regarding whether he has been fired or not, the source asserts that his fate remains undecided by producers, and that he may still continue with the show.
Tom Hardy is yet to publicly comment on the reports.
In the past, former co-stars of Hardy have spoken about having difficulty working with him. Patrick Stewart, whom worked with the actor on 2002’s Star Trek: Nemesis , described him in his memoir as an “odd, solitary young man” who “wouldn’t engage with any of us on a social level”.
Charlize Theron described herself as being “scared shitless” while working with Hardy on 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road , while the movie’s director, George Miller, explained: “Tom has a damage to him but also a brilliance that comes with it, and whatever was going on with him at the time, he had to be coaxed out of his trailer”.
