Other artists playing at Crystal Palace Park this summer are Kneecap , who will perform on Saturday (June 27), marking their biggest headline gig to date .

The Offspring will play on Sunday alongside special guests  Dropkick Murphys ,  Pennywise ,  PUP  and  Destroy Boys , while Grace Jones is due to headline on July 31 .

Gary Numan will perform on Sunday August 6, joined on the night by  Marc Almond  – performing the songs of  Soft Cell  and solo tracks – and  Ladytron . Elsewhere, Bastille  and  The Wombats  will co-headline on Thursday August 13 and, before then, there will be the first ever ‘Gospel Garden Festival’ taking place at the event.

Two Door Cinema Club will play other 15th anniversary gigs at  Cardiff Castle and New York’s Madison Square Garden later this year. They will also be playing major shows in Dublin and Cork this summer, as well as a range of festival appearances, including Isle Of Wight Festival ,  Kendall Calling ,  Truck Festival ,  Y Not Festival  and  TRNSMT .

The album reached Number One on the Irish chart and landed a spot on the BBC’s coveted ‘Sound Of’ poll in 2010.  NME  gave ‘Tourist History’ a 7/10 review , writing: “Two Door’s stuttering yet spiky songs are tighter than a snake’s bumhole in a sandstorm.

“[…] Listening to the likes of the thrillingly optimistic ‘What You Know’ and ‘I Can Talk’ makes you feel like you could wrestle former WWE slaphead ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and win.”

Speaking to  NME  last year , bassist Kevin Baird explained: “When we first formed, we were looking up to bands like  Bloc Party  and  Foals  but by the time we released ‘Tourist History’, it didn’t really feel like we were part of a scene.

“It gave us a bit of a chip on our shoulder and we felt like outsiders, but we just focused on doing our own thing. We also knew that we couldn’t recapture the magic of breakout songs like ‘Undercover Martyn’ and ‘What You Know’, so we’ve always chased doing something new. I hope people don’t just see us as that band from 2010.”

He added: “When we wrote ‘Tourist History’, we didn’t really know what we were supposed to be doing and no one was ever meant to hear it beyond our friends and whoever turned up at our gigs at Belfast pubs. Once you have some success though and a wider audience is listening, that’s when the pressure comes in.”

Two Door Cinema Club have released five LPs in total, their latest being 2022’s  ‘Keep On Smiling’ . They have since shared the singles  ‘Sure Enough’  (2023) and  ‘Happy Customers’  (2024).
