Variety has received 100 nominations during the 2025 calendar year for the Los Angeles Press Club’s annual SoCal Journalism Awards . Four journalists were finalists for Journalist of the Year, including Daniel D’Addario for journalist of the year, print (over 50,000 circulation); Brian Steinberg for online journalist of the year; and Brent Lang and Chris Willman, entertainment journalists of the year.

Variety ‘s nominations spanned magazine and entertainment journalism, video, photography and graphic design, audio and online content.
