Violet Grohl Performs “Bug in the Cake” from Debut Album on The Tonight Show

Violet Grohl stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform “Bug in the Cake,” a rousing track from her recently-released album Be Sweet to Me .

Serving as her TV debut, the performance saw Violet Grohl composed and focused while her band — especially drummer Anthony Paul Lopez — exploded with energy behind her. It was a faithful rendition of “Bug in the Cake,” with the song’s vocal harmonies above Grohl shining in the live context; while Grohl never quite let loose, it was nonetheless a gratifying display of her ’90s-coded songwriting and her raw power at the microphone.
