Warhorse Studios Teases New Kingdom Come Title, Plus a Lord of the Rings Game

Warhorse Studios have confirmed that a brand new Kingdom Come game will launch sooner than you think.

Last week, Prague-based video game developers Warhorse Studios announced that they were heading up work on a new Lord Of The Rings game after two failed attempts by Amazon . They confirmed the game would be an “open world Middle-earth role-playing game” and they will share more details when the time is “right”.

They also revealed they were working on a “new Kingdom Come adventure”. The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance was released in 2018 while a sequel Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 followed in 2025.

Because of how long it took for Warhorse to make Deliverance 2 and the distraction of the Lord Of The Rings game, fans had been expecting a long wait for the new Kingdom Come game. But according to communications director Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, that isn’t the case. “If everything goes right, it comes next fiscal year,” he said during a community stream (via Eurogamer ). “Which means you don’t have to wait seven years for another Kingdom Come . That is good!”

The current financial year ends March 31, 2027 so we can expect the new Kingdom Come game to launch before March 31, 2028.

It’s not known if the new game will continue the story told across Deliverance and Deliverance 2 but Stolz-Zwilling has described the project as another “open-world RPG”.

Earlier this year, Warhorse studio head Daniel Vávra stepped down to focus on the Kingdom Come movie adaptation but that seemingly won’t affect the new games. “We would have to be blind if we didn’t realise how much our brand has grown,” explained studio boss Martin Frývaldský  “We see the film as a compliment to our game creation, which can be extremely successful in its own right.”

In other news, hit horror movie Backrooms  was inspired by cult game  Portal , says director Kane Parsons.
