Weezer Announces "Gold Album," Featuring Karly Hartzman on New Track

Weezer revealed that they had a new album in the works earlier this year, and after sharing the first single, “Shine Again,” in April, they’ve officially announced their self-titled “Gold Album,” due out on August 21 via Reprise/Warner. It was produced by Klas Ahlund and Kenneth Blume (fka Kenny Beats), the latter of whom said he wanted to make “the most violent Weezer album ever.” See the cover art and tracklist below.

They’ve also shared a new single, “We Might As Well Be Strangers,” which has Karly Hartzman of Wednesday singing with Rivers Cuomo over crunchy alt rock. Watch the video below.

Weezer are going on a fall arena tour with The Shins and Silversun Picksup , including a Brooklyn show at Barclays Center on September 30 . See all dates below.
