Xiu Xiu have lined up an album based on their ongoing live show revolving around David Lynch’s Eraserhead . Out July 10 via Polyvinyl , Eraserhead Xiu Xiu follows Jamie Stewart and the band’s Lynch-approved Twin Peaks album and concerts. Below, listen to Stewart and Angela Seo’s take on a song from Eraserhead , “In Heaven,” originally composed by Peter Ivers, with lyrics by the late Lynch.
Xiu Xiu are heading out on the road this fall for a string of dates, mostly playing the Eraserhead set. The concept, per a press release, is inspired by Alan Splet and Lynch’s original score and sound design. A film companion to the album is also in the pipeline. Last year, Xiu Xiu released an album —not to be found on Spotify —of covers of the likes of Daniel Johnston, Glorilla, and Robyn.
