YOSHIKI has joined the lineup as a headliner for Global Citizen Live: Tokyo, the upcoming music event from the advocacy organization that seeks to end poverty worldwide. The composer joins previously announced performers &TEAM, Ai, and Yuki Chiba on 18 June 2026 at the Tokyo International Forum. The event will be hosted by Chris Peppler.

“I’m very happy to perform at Global Citizen’s first-ever concert event in Japan,” said YOSHIKI. “Their mission of joining music and philanthropy is something I connect to in a deeply personal way.”

The final batch of tickets to Global Citizen Live: Tokyo were made available starting Saturday, May 30. Tickets can be purchased from eplus and Lawson Ticket. Proceeds from tickets sold to Global Citizen Live: Tokyo will contribute to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an international initiative to raise ¥16 billion to provide at least 100,000 children with access to quality education in over 150 countries, including in Japan, by the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

27 grassroots organizations from 10 countries around the world, including two programs in Japan, have been selected to receive awards ranging from USD $50,000–$250,000 to further their vital work providing access to quality education and sports to children in underserved communities.

Additionally, a limited number of free tickets to Global Citizen Live: Tokyo can be earned by taking action on the Global Citizen app . Every action taken on the app generates points, which can be used to enter the draw for free tickets or exchanged for other rewards. Learn more here .

Since 2008, Global Citizen has grown to become the world’s largest movement to end extreme poverty. Almost ¥8 trillion in commitments announced on Global Citizen platforms have been deployed, impacting 1.3 billion lives. Artists who have performed at Global Citizen’s music events around the world include Beyoncé, Coldplay, BTS, Blackpink, Rihanna, Ed SHeeran , Mariah Carey , Stray Kids, Billie Eilish, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many more.

YOSHIKI is a composer, classically-trained pianist, rock drummer, and the leader of the rock groups X Japan and The Last Rockstars. Following sold-out performances in Tokyo, YOSHIKI will perform two exclusive classical concerts at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles on July 16 and 17.
