Ania Magliano Defends Controversial Mark Zuckerberg Hitler Joke
"He’s ruining a lot of people’s lives," says comedian Ania Magliano, defending her Mark Zuckerberg-Hitler joke, saying the Meta CEO is "fair game."

SNL UK ’s Ania Magliano has said Mark Zuckerberg is “fair game” after making him the butt of a controversial Hitler joke.
The first run of episodes of the British version of the long-running sketch show concluded on May 16, and the largely positive reception that it received has seen it recommissioned for a second season .
Magliano, a stand-up comedian that has also been a writer on Chicken Shop Date and was a hit on Taskmaster , is the co-host of Weekend Update on SNL UK , alongside Paddy Young, and among her most provocative jokes revolved around the Facebook founder Zuckerberg.
“It’s been revealed that Meta billionaire Mark Zuckerberg is building a bunker under his compound in California,” she said on one episode. “And I hope he uses that bunker in exactly the same way Hitler did.”
Speaking to Variety , Magliano has defended the joke, and said she is not afraid of any backlash online. “I’m kind of detached from it,” she said. “I try not to read the comments. That Mark Zuckerberg one…I was just like, it’s a joke .”
“And also, it’s Mark Zuckerberg, I think he’s fair game,” she added. “He’s ruining a lot of people’s lives.”
Across the first eight episodes, hosts included Tina Fey , Riz Ahmed , Aimee Lou Wood and Ncuti Gatwa , while the musical guests ranged from Wet Leg and Wolf Alice to Jorja Smith and Foo Fighters .
It was confirmed earlier this month that the show will return for a 12-episode second season that will run from autumn 2026 to early 2027 . “I’m incredibly proud of our team and the show,” said SNL creator Lorne Michaels. “It keeps getting better every week. I’m grateful to Sky for believing in and supporting SNL UK . I’m excited for the season ahead.”
Peter Serafinowicz starred in one of the most talked-about skits from the first season , playing Nigel Farage in a version of the future in which he has been Prime Minister for many years, and celebrates getting the population of London “down to single figures”. Other standout controversies included jokes at the expense of Melania Trump and Kanye West .
