The London premiere of multi award-winning‘ Remember That Time? A Musical', a one-woman, mixed-media playby TV and film songwriter Annmarie Cullen, will come to London Queer Fringe Festival, 16 -18 July.
After two decades in Los Angeles crafting songs for Disney and Warner Chappell, with two theme songs among over 60 placements in TV and films, including the Disney sci-fi series So Weird, Dublin native Annmarie Cullen returns to her roots with her first original musical.
Told through narration, original songs and on-screen video, the show features music written with collaborators including Mundy, Lucy Schwartz (Twilight soundtrack), and Emmy-nominated songwriter Jeannie Lurie.
This one-woman, three-character, mixed-media production saw Annmarie Cullen win Best Performance at the 2024 Dublin Gay Theatre Festival 2024 and it garnered critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe last summer, along with an Edinburgh Fringe Theatre Award (EFFTA).
Annmarie, a 40-something musician, leaves LA for love in Barcelona. She trades her music career for corporate stability, and in the process, loses her identity... and wife. Reeling from the breakup, she returns to Dublin after 25 years away to start over from ground zero. With support from two friends via Zoom (portrayed onscreen by comedian Gearoid Farrelly and musician Naimee Coleman), she embarks on a journey of self-discovery and rekindles her passion for life and music.
