Black Rock Theater has announced its upcoming production of the iconic Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar, performing June 5 through June 7 at Fairfield Theatre Company's StageOne in Fairfield, Connecticut. This electrifying production features a professional cast and a full live orchestra.

First performed in 1971, Jesus Christ Superstar tells the final weeks of Jesus of Nazareth's life through the eyes of Judas Iscariot, set against a timeless rock score. With its powerful music, dramatic storytelling, and profound themes of faith, betrayal, and sacrifice, the show has captivated audiences around the world for over five decades.

“We are beyond excited to bring Jesus Christ Superstar to life on StageOne,” said Connor Deane , Black Rock Theater's Executive Director. “This production represents everything Black Rock Theater stands for — bold, passionate storytelling performed by incredibly talented artists. With our professional cast and a live orchestra behind them, this is going to be a truly visceral, electrifying experience. We cannot wait for audiences to feel the power of this show in the room with us.”

Ethan Horbury (Jesus), Shannon McCarthy (Judas), Natalie Biebel (Mary), and Jim Nassef (Pilate) lead the production, with ensemble members:

The cast includes Madelynn Taylor, Korey Rainey, Levi Randolph, Sebastian Gates-Graceson, Colin Nye, George Maillis, Jaxon McKay, Jaylin Sky, Ava Martin, and Annabelle Woodard.

The production is directed and choreographed by Kelly O'Neill, with music direction by Ben Doyle. The design team includes Ryan Howell (Scenic Design), Ava Greer (Costume Design), Katie Whittemore (Lighting Design), and Greg Poore (Sound Design). Connor Deane serves as Executive Producer.
