Opal Records , the label founded by the legendary musician-producer Brian Eno in 1988, is returning after more than three decades. The relaunch is beginning with the reissue of two Eno albums: “Another Day on Earth” (2005) and his collaboration with J. Peter Schwalm, “Drawn From Life” (2001), both unavailable outside of Japan for nearly 20 years. New releases are also planned.

In its first run between 1988 and 1991, Opal released albums by Brian Eno, Roger Eno, Harold Budd, Laraaji, Djivan Gasparyan, Hugo Largo, Zvuki Mu, Daniel Lanois, Jon Hassell and John Cale. Eno put the label on hiatus in 1991 to concentrate on his own work, and the catalogue moved across to All Saints Records.
