Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Campaign Playable A Week Early For Pre-Orders

Call Of Duty fans will be able to play Modern Warfare 4 ’s single-player campaign mode a week before the game launches.

For the first time in three years, Activision is releasing Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 in two waves. The full game is set to launch October 23 for PlayStation 5 , Xbox Series X/S , PC and Nintendo Switch 2 but players who pre-order the game will be able to access the single-player campaign mode from October 16.

“In the Modern Warfare 4 Campaign, you fight as Private Park, a young South Korean soldier facing live combat for the first time alongside his squad. What begins as a routine mission descends into chaos when North Korea launches a full-scale invasion, forcing Park and his unit into a desperate battle through collapsing cities and counteroffensives,” reads an official description.

“Beyond the front lines, operator-turned-outlaw Captain Price is operating outside the system he once served. A hunt for revenge draws Price toward a weapon powerful enough to shift the balance of power, setting in motion a conflict far greater than he ever anticipated. Forced into uneasy alliances and off-book operations, Price is pulled deeper into consequences he can no longer escape,” the description continues. “From large-scale battles and covert missions to combined-arms warfare and cinematic set pieces, the campaign delivers grounded combat and gameplay variety across a war that spreads far beyond the front lines.”

Activision has also announced that “bullshit” celebrity skins that featured across Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 won’t feature in Modern Warfare 4 following backlash from players. “Every feature, every decision needs to feel authentic to what Modern Warfare is, and that includes cosmetics and collabs. We’re committed to keeping it grounded and transparent.”

Modern Warfare 4 will be the first Call Of Duty title to launch on a Nintendo system since 2011 but the shooter won’t be coming to PlayStation 4. It will also be at least a year until the game arrives on Xbox Game Pass  after  Microsoft bosses reworked the subscription service to make it “more affordable” .
