Esperanza Spalding, The War & Treaty, Red Baraat to Play Free Summer Shows in NYC’s Battery Park City

Battery Park City Authority presents a free summer concert series at Robert F. Wagner Jr. Park from May 28 – August 8, featuring Esperanza Spalding, The War & Treaty, Red Baraat, and the annual River & Blues festival.

Esperanza Spalding, The War & Treaty, Red Baraat to Play Free Summer Shows in NYC’s Battery Park City

Battery Park City Authority’s FREE NYC summer show series returns to Robert F. Wagner Jr. Park this summer from May 28 – August 8 . Each one begins at 6:30 PM with a DJ set, followed by performances at 7:30 PM, as the sun sets over the harbor. Things kick off Thursday, May 28 with Red Baraat , the NYC bhangra ensemble led by Sunny Jain ( details & RSVP ). Then on Saturday, June 6 it’s a Pride Month celebration featuring Impress ( details & RSVP ).

In July it’s the River and Blues festival , which happens on Thursday evenings, with doors at 6:30 PM and shows at 7:30 PM. This year’s schedule includes Rebirth Brass Band on July 9 ( RSVP ), The War and Treaty on July 16 ( RSVP ), Allen Stone on July 23 ( RSVP ), and Amelia Day on July 30 ( RSVP ).

Finally, the series wraps up with Esperanza Spalding on August 8 ; doors are at 6 PM, and show at 7 PM for this show ( details & RSVP ).

From uplifting serenades to at-times chilling ballads, Esperanza Spalding’s latest offering showcases embodied classical jazz training through the long-standing rite of improvisation. Hybridizing modalities from the ancient to the innovative—Esperanza will debut never-before-heard works and will be joined by dancers, some of her best-known collaborators, and jazz’s brightest stars.

Presented by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) as part of the 2026 River to River Festival and in partnership with Battery Park City Authority.
