Nair is taking on the role pro bono the company said in an announcement on Wednesday ( June 10 ).

ContentLens said Nair is a former client of the platform who chose to back it based on direct experience of its technology.

In his advisory role, Nair will provide counsel on ContentLens ‘s go-to-market strategy across the media and entertainment industry in India and globally, support its investor relations, and open up his network across music, media and entertainment companies.

> “I have spent my career building value across the music and entertainment ecosystem, and I can see clearly that the next frontier of that value lies in AI-driven content protection.” Hari Nair

The Bangalore -headquartered company builds technology across four areas: music IP protection, celebrity likeness detection, content provenance and deepfake identification.

ContentLens says it has filed patents on its fingerprinting, watermarking and audio-visual content intelligence technologies.

“When someone of Hari ‘s standing chooses to back ContentLens – not for a fee, but out of genuine belief in what we are building – it is among the strongest forms of validation a company at our stage can receive,” said Rohan Sahu , Founder and CEO of ContentLens .

“His three decades of operating experience across every layer of the music and entertainment ecosystem, combined with his direct familiarity with our platform, gives us both strategic depth and credibility as we scale. We are deeply grateful for his trust and commitment,” Sahu added.

“I have spent my career building value across the music and entertainment ecosystem, and I can see clearly that the next frontier of that value lies in AI-driven content protection. ContentLens is solving a problem that every label, every artist, and every media company in the world already faces: IP infringement in an age where content can be replicated, repurposed, and monetised without consent.

“I have worked with this technology as a client and I know what it can do. I am joining because I genuinely believe this platform will matter – for record labels, musicians, artists, celebrities and every form of IP owner,” said Nair .

Nair stepped down as CEO of Tips Music on April 30, 2026 , after joining the publicly listed Indian label in September 2023 .

During his tenure, Tips struck a direct global licensing deal with TikTok and extended partnerships with Sony Music Publishing and Warner Music Group .

Before Tips , Nair held roles at Sony Music India and PPL India , and at ByteDance , where he helped launch streaming app Resso in India and later oversaw TikTok ‘s distribution service SoundOn across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. Music Business Worldwide
