Williams is currently out on her ‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’ world tour , in support of  her recent solo album of the same name , and last night (May 3), she returned to Austin’s Moody Theater, where she nodded to the 1977 hit.

Midway through ‘Good ‘Ol Days’ – which itself references Stevie Nicks ‘ witchy ways with the line: “I’m not Stevie, I won’t hex ya” – she sang the iconic ‘Silver Springs’ chorus. It’s something she also did at an earlier gig in Silver Spring, Maryland, the place that inspired the track’s title.

Williams has often praised Nicks for paving the way for women in rock. In 2024, she responded to Paramore being “one of only two bands that include women” in a most-streamed rock acts chart , with Fleetwood Mac being the second. While she said she was “beyond honoured,” she added that in her lifetime, she hoped to see “more women, more LGBTQ+, and black/brown talent” on the list.

She also responded to a fan who asked if she ever got the chance to meet Nicks – explaining that she had, and the vocalist was “everything you hope her to be,” adding: “There isn’t a world in which I come close to their magic, but she and Christine [McVie] make me feel proud to be considered a woman in rock.”

The two had met earlier thar year when she and Taylor Swift enjoyed a night out with Nicks in Dublin after Swift wrapped up her three-show run in the city .

As for Williams’ live dates, her tour continues tomorrow (May 5) with a gig in Phoenix. You can see all of the remaining tour dates here  and find any remaining tickets  here .

In  a  glowing five-star review of ‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’ ,  NME  wrote: “As with almost every era of Hayley Williams’ career, this new release has come with  questions about the future of Paramore .

“The determined lyrics on the tender ‘I Won’t Quit On You’ should be all the reassurance worried fans need, but if that’s not enough, there’s plenty in this brilliant, swaggering new chapter to be excited about.

“These songs might be about missed second chances, but Williams is certainly making the most of hers.”

It also went on to be named as  the ninth best album of the year in  NME ’s end of year list .
