Jon Bon Jovi: Fully Recovered After Vocal Surgery, Ready for MSG Residency

Jon Bon Jovi has revealed that his vocal cords have fully recovered four years after major surgery. The good news comes just weeks before his band Bon Jovi resume touring with a nine-show residency at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
The Bon Jovi frontman had undergone treatment for a strained vocal cord, leaving him uncertain whether he would ever be able to perform again. He said in a new interview with People , “I’m fully recovered. It was longer than I’d ever expected, but it had to be right. We never lost faith.”

He also praised his bandmates for their patience, saying, “They never doubted [me] and never looked for work or decided to retire. The sacrifices that each one of them have made to be there for me is on a whole ’nother level. They said, ‘No, we’re with you.’ Every day of every rehearsal they were there with me. My love for them has only deepened.”

Bon Jovi’s MSG residency begins July 7th, and runs through July 26th, with tickets available here . As of now, the New York City shows are the only North American dates on the band’s 2026 itinerary, which also includes a string of UK gigs in August and September.
The singer previously said he was inspired by Metallica’s “no repeat weekend” shows , and plans on mixing up the setlist each night during the Madison Square Garden run.
