Chris Pratt will co-star with historian Doris Kearns Goodwin in a government-funded comedy shorts series for America 250, a report says. The U.S. State Department provided funds for the series.

Chris Pratt will be teaching the masses American history in a new series, poorly and humorously, according to a report.
The actor is starring in a new comedy shorts series focused on U.S. history meant to coordinate with America 250 celebrations with an unexpected co-star — presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, Variety reported . Maybe more unexpected, the show is funded by the American government.
The show comes from the studio ATTN: and has Emmy-winning producer Alex Gregory of Veep and White House Plumbers . Variety described the shorts as following Pratt while he tries to share his passion for American history, only to find out that his understanding of facts isn’t as strong as his enthusiasm. Goodwin is an executive producer, editorial advisor and on-screen expert to keep the lessons on track.
The U.S. government is funding the project through the State Department’s Office of Public Diplomacy and Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, intended to “inform and engage foreign publics about America through international media engagement, educational and cultural exchange programs, digital communications, and outreach conducted through U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide,” per an announcement reported on by Variety.

For now, the comedy shorts series is nicknamed “Faster Class,” likely a play on Master Class, while an official title is worked out, according to Variety. Each episode will explore a constitutional value through the story of a historical figure or happening, blending live action and animation.
Pratt has shown some support for the current executive regime of the American government. In 2025, he called Robert Kennedy Jr. “funny” and “wonderful,” and saying “I love him” after having dinners with the current health secretary.
Pratt was the voice of Mario in the recent Nintendo video game film adaptations .
