Julian Franzoni Named WCM General Manager for Argentina, Uruguay

Julian Franzoni appointed General Manager for Argentina and Uruguay at Warner Chappell Music

Warner Chappell Music has appointed Julian Franzoni as its new General Manager for Argentina and Uruguay .

In the role, Franzoni will oversee the publisher’s regional operations and report to Gustavo Menéndez , President, U.S. Latin & Latin America at Warner Chappell Music .

The appointment was announced on Thursday ( June 4 ).

The company said Franzoni will focus on growing its business across both markets. It added that he will work to create international opportunities for the publisher’s songwriters.

Since joining WCM in 2016 , Franzoni has risen through the company’s A&R team, from consultant to director.

The company credits Franzoni with signing and developing Argentine artists including Duki , Trueno , Silvestre y La Naranja , CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso , Nico Cotton , and Tatool .

Among them, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso drew international attention in 2024 with a viral performance on NPR ‘s Tiny Desk.

He has also worked with Uruguayan acts including The La Planta , Davus , and Tadu Vazquez .

Franzoni entered the music industry at 19 , working as a stage manager for Argentine artists including Palito Ortega , Andrés Calamaro , and Federico Gil Solá of Divididos .

He spent 25 years managing Clanort , the publishing company owned by Palito Ortega , the Argentine singer and actor, before joining WCM .

The company said Franzoni helped launch its operations in Uruguay and build the publisher’s first recording studio.

The appointment adds to a run of leadership changes and signings across the Latin America operations of Warner Chappell Music , the music publishing arm of Warner Music Group .

In January, the publisher named David Checa as Managing Director of its Colombian operation , a role that also reports to Menéndez .

Franzoni joins a regional leadership team that includes Lázaro Hernández , who was promoted to Senior Vice President, A&R, US Latin & Latin America in 2024 .

WCM also signed Argentine songwriter Claudia Brant to a global publishing deal in April, in what it described as part of an expansion of its Latin music publishing footprint.

On the recorded-music side, Warner Music last year named Tomás Talarico Managing Director of its Southern Cone business , overseeing Argentina and Chile and reporting to Alejandro Duque , President of Warner Music Latin America . Music Business Worldwide
