After some surprise onstage appearances the past few weeks, Julien Baker will return to the road this fall with three-night residencies in six cities.

Baker’s month-long rock club tour begins October 15 with three shows in Salt Lake City, followed by a trio of gigs in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Carrboro, North Carolina, Athens, Georgia, Lawrence, Kansas, and concluding November 19 in Seattle, Washington. The artist announced the trek a day after she played a surprise show Wednesday at Nashville’s the Blue Room; at that gig, she was accompanied by her longtime collaborators Matt Gilman and Calvin Lauber, who will also join her on the residency tour.

Baker has largely been off the road since boygenius wrapped up their tour in 2024. She was scheduled to tour in the summer of 2025 in support of her joint album with Torres, but canceled that trek as she was “prioritizing her well-being and taking time to focus on her health.”

After over a year from playing live, Baker has inched back into performing, playing a solo show in Nantucket, Massachusetts in late August and serving as surprise guest during her Boygenius bandmate Lucy Dacus’ Outside Lands gig.

At the Nashville show Wednesday, Baker performed tracks from her solo albums, as well as debuted four new songs that a press release called “new music that emerged from her recent time in the studio.” Baker’s last album Little Oblivions arrived in 2021.
