Madonna Marks 20 Years of Confessions Tour, Hints at Possible Part 2
Madonna celebrates the 20th anniversary of her Confessions Tour on Instagram, leading fans to speculate about a "Part 2" after she captioned the post "Confessions Tour-Part 1."

Is Madonna going on tour in support of her upcoming Confessions II album?
Fans are speculating as much after the Queen of Pop posted a flashback video on her social media accounts Thursday (May 21) in which she commemorated the 20th anniversary of the launch of her Confessions Tour on May 21, 2006.

The throwback clip intercuts footage of the Confessions Tour with glimpses of new footage of Madonna, set to “I Feel So Free,” a song from the upcoming Confessions II album (due July 3). However, it’s the caption that accompanies the video that intrigued fans: “Happy 20th anniversary!! Confessions Tour-Part 1,” with a disco ball emoji.
It’s the “Part 1” phrasing that is drawing attention, suggesting there could be a Confessions Tour – Part 2 in the future. In April, Madonna’s longtime manager Guy Oseary shared via social media that “she will tour again” and “wants to share her music with fans,” adding “not sure yet the plans” and to “stay tuned.”
Billboard has reached out to Madonna’s reps for more details.
Madonna is sequel-minded as of late, as Confessions II is the follow-up to her 2005 Confessions on a Dance Floor album. For the new album, Madonna reunited with her Confessions on a Dance Floor collaborator, writer/producer/DJ Stuart Price. The latter also served as the musical director for the Confessions Tour.
The Confessions Tour, which supported Madonna’s 2005 Confessions On a Dance Floor album, grossed $194.8 million and sold 1.2 million tickets over 60 shows, as reported to Billboard Boxscore. It finished as the No. 2 trek on the 2006 year-end Top Tours chart, and at the time, was Madonna’s highest-grossing and best-selling tour.
Madonna’s most recent live outing, The Celebration Tour, played 81 shows in 2023-24, with Price returning as musical director.
