Madonna Releases "Confessions II – The Film" Featuring Arca, Honey Dijon, and Shygirl

Madonna is getting ready to drop Confessions II next month. She already took over Times Square in celebration of the new era. Today, she's released a new star-studded film that's all about feeling free. It was directed by Torso.

Each song from the forthcoming album is previewed across six chapters. I felt like I was on drugs watching it. So much of it did not make sense, but it's somewhat fun, with some poignant (although not novel) notes on the dance floor.

"Thanks for coming. Sometimes I like to just hide in the shadows. Create a new persona, a different identity. I can be whoever I want to be," Madonna says at the opening of the visual. "People think that dance music is superficial. But they've got it all wrong. The dance floor is not just a place; it's a threshold, a ritualistic space where movement replaces language," she adds later.

There's a lot of unexpected stuff in Confessions II – The Film , including an entire scene where Madonna walks through a misty forest set where lasers are shooting out of people's privates. Her single with Sabrina Carpenter, " Bring Your Love ," also gets an official visual, with the two of them navigating a crowded, dark dance floor. Julia Garner, who is still set to play Madonna in a forthcoming biopic, also makes an appearance during this scene.

There's also an epic bathroom scene that features everyone from Arca to Benedict Cumberbatch. Yes, that last one is correct. Also appearing are Odessa A'zion, Gwendoline Christie, Shygirl, Richard E. Grant, Debi Mazar, Kate Moss, Honey Dijon, Archie Madekwe, João Pedro, and Cole Palmer. It's a pipe dream. Her daughter, Lourdes Leon, also makes an appearance toward the end of the film. She delivers the line: "I wish a motherfucker would."
