Natalie Alyn Lind on Yellowstone Spinoff, Slasher Film, and Cowboy Camp

Natalie Alyn Lind is officially in the Taylor Sheridan universe, and she sounds just as surprised by it as everyone else. Speaking with Kyle Meredith , the actress talked about joining Dutton Ranch , the direct continuation of the Yellowstone saga, and how the whole thing went from a secretive audition process to suddenly being told to pack her life up and move to Texas for seven months. Then came cowboy camp. Lind says the experience finally hit her once she climbed onto a horse alongside the rest of the cast, adding that Sheridan’s productions don’t allow for fake cowboys. Lind described her character Oreana as “the type of person that can walk into any room and say exactly what she wants,” adding, “She’s powerful and she knows her worth and she doesn’t take anything from anyone.” While she stayed careful not to spoil too much about where the season heads, she admitted fans are already trying to decode the relationship parallels between the younger generation and Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s Beth and Rip dynamic. She also opened up about working opposite Annette Bening, calling the Oscar-winning actress “one of the kindest people that I’ve ever worked with.”

At the same time, Lind is diving headfirst into horror with Halloween Store , a slasher she’s starring in, producing, casting, editing, and helping shape from post-production all the way down to the score. Calling it her “love letter to horror,” she said the film pulls inspiration from the slashers she grew up loving. “I miss kind of the old school slasher films from like the late ’90s or early 2000s, even like the ’80s,” she said. “We wanted to do something that was just really fun to watch.” The cast includes Anthony Michael Hall, Simon Rex, and family friend Thomas Dekker, who Lind credits alongside her mother for helping shape her horror obsession from childhood. “It gave me the itch for it,” she said of producing. “Now I just can’t stop scratching at it.”
