Olivia Rodrigo to Release New Single "the cure" This Friday

Olivia Rodrigo , noted fan of the band The Cure , has announced a new single “the cure,” out on Friday, May 22nd.

Rodrigo announced the new single today with an Instagram post revealing the single artwork, which depicts Rodrigo holding a red band that’s been stretched out to reveal the words “the cure.” While it’s unknown if the song’s title does indeed refer to the beloved Robert Smith-led band, “Just Like Heaven” was referenced in the first verse of Rodrigo’s recent song “drop dead.” Plus, Smith and Rodrigo are good friends , apparently.

The new song is the second single off Rodrigo’s upcoming album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love , out on June 12th. She’s got a massive 2026-2027 tour coming in support of the project; tickets are sold-out , but you can still get them here .
