Performances will be at the Cox Playhouse, 1517 H Avenue in Plano, running June 4-20 on Thursday and Friday at 8:00 pm and Saturday at 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm the first and third weekends, and Friday at 8:00 pm, Saturday at 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm, and Sunday at 3:00 pm the second weekend.

When Mark McPherson (played by Troy Murray) first falls in love with Laura, he knows he’s in love with a phantom – for Laura is dead, and he’s in charge of her murder investigation. From her portrait, her letters, her personal effects and from his contacts with the three men who loved her (Alex Eding as Waldo Lydecker, Dylan Hilbert as Danny Dorgan, and Bradley Langan as Shelby Carpenter), Mark has created an image of a woman tantalizingly alive and real. When she appears in the midst of a thunderstorm, very much alive after all (played by Andie Pace), it is revealed that Laura’s best friend and rival was the true victim of the crime. But now, all the evidence seems to point to Laura’s guilt. Is Mark going to have to pin the crime on the woman he’s falling in love with? Rounding out the cast are Savannah Valdez as Bessie, Vivian Reed as Mrs. Dorgan, and Jay Matherly as Olsen.

Rover’s Executive Artistic Director Carol M. Rice serves as director, with Kya “KJ” James as stage manager. Set design is by Rachel Velasco, costume design is by Benjamin Taylor Ridgeway and props design is by Sara Jones. Jason Rice is sound designer, with lighting design by Kenneth Hall, who also serves as the board op for lights and sound. Matthew James Edwards is fight choreographer, with Elizabeth Kirkland as intimacy coordinator. Malia Filipe is Rover’s Summer College Intern, courtesy of Theatre Network of Texas, Inc.

Thursday, June 4 is Preview Night, with all seats $10.00 in advance online or “pay-what-you-can” at the door. Regular ticket prices for Laura are $25.00 Friday and Saturday nights and $20.00 on Thursday nights and Saturday and Sunday matinees, with discounts for teachers, students, and seniors. Rover will host a First Friday reception after the performance on Friday, June 5, honoring the cast and production team. Tickets may be ordered online at www.roverdramawerks.com .
