Shearwater Prepares to Unveil New Album “The New World” This July
Shearwater announces their new album, "The New World," set for release on July 31. Fans can get an early listen with the tracks "Daydream Unbeliever" and "More and More."

Shearwater have announced a new album, The New World , which will be out July 31 via Polyborus. The band — frontman Jonathan Meiburg, plus keyboardist Emily Lee and multiinstrumentalist Dan Duszynski — produced it with Danny Reisch and Leo Abrams and the record features contributions from Shahzad Ismaily , Xiu Xiu ‘s Jamie Stewart , Thor Harris , woodwinds player Doug Wieselman , qanunist Farouz Zriek , ngonist Mamadou Kouyate , and percussionists Mahamadou Tounkara and Moctar Kouyate (of Malian group Ngoni Ba).
You can hear two songs right now. “Daydream Unbeliever” and “More and More” are both great examples of the kind of widescreen orchestral rock that Shearwater does so well. “If you’re like us, you wake up feeling like the world’s on fire, and hoping you could reckon with it if you knew where to begin,” says Meiburg. “‘Daydream Unbeliever’ and ‘More and More’ come from this uneasy place. If they help you feel a little less insane, welcome home.”
“Daydream Unbeliever” comes with a video shot and edited by Meiburg during research in Antarctica. Watch that and listen to “More and More” below.
