On her standout hit “Crank,” Slayyyter issued a simple warning: “Do not piss me off.” Or else what? “Crank 2,” apparently. Slayyyter has shared a sequel song to the Wor$t Girl in America single that builds on the bluster of “Crank,” only this track is a little more sinister and infinitely more pissed off.
“I’m a pretty motherfucker, hundred dollar on the trucker/Bet you keepin’ ugly bitches on your dick undercover/He had the sickest bitch, fucked it up, what a sucker/He think he run culture, but, bitch, I run it,” Slayyyter spits over clattering production on the opening verse. The song arrives alongside a new militant and monochromatic music video.
On the original “Crank,” Slayyyter gets so twisted she “can’t say no sentences right.” Here, she wants her target to hear her loud and clear — emphasis on loud. “You fucking over Slayyyter?” she asks. “Bitch, I’ll bring the blick later.”
“Crank 2” is the second release from the inverted, extended universe of Wor$t Girl in America , tentatively titled Wor$t Man in America. It follows the “Beat Up Chanel$” flip “Brand New Chanel$,” which also addressed betrayal and infidelity. “I want to live here for a little longer, so I’m kind of making an inverse album, if you will,” Slayyyter told Rolling Stone earlier this year. “I just want the core of everything to feel like me, because it finally feels that.”
