Somerset Sounds Festival to Debut in 2027 via Cricket Club and Full Fat 360 Partnership
Somerset County Cricket Club and live entertainment firm Full Fat 360 are partnering to launch Somerset Sounds, a new annual summer concert festival. The event is set to debut in August 2027 at the Cooper Associates County Ground.

Somerset County Cricket Club has announced a joint partnership with live entertainment company Full Fat 360 in the UK to launch Somerset Sounds, a new, annual summer concert festival in August 2027.
Launching in Summer 2027, Somerset Sounds will take over the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton, England, aiming to “establish a bold new festival on the UK live music circuit for international touring acts,” according to the press announcement.
The launch marks “a strategic move to establish the Cooper Associates County Ground as a primary UK live entertainment destination in its own right, expanding the venue’s footprint beyond its 145-year sporting legacy dating back to 1881,” it continues.
The grounds have hosted major live events with internationally renowned artists in the past, including the likes of Sir Elton John, Rod Stewart and Lionel Richie.
Somerset Sounds intends to build on this heritage and also introduce what organizers have described as “a fresh consumer brand that turns Taunton into a staple stop on the international summer tour circuit, driving major tourism, cultural identity, and economic impact across the region.”
With Quantock Hills and historic church towers as a scenic backdrop, the Cricket stadium will host a major outdoor stage for up to 18,000 music fans in the festival’s first year, Pollstar was told upon request.
They will have access to premium hospitality packages in the stands and an expansive new Fan Village on St James Street, where the Cooper Associates County Ground is located, featuring curated food, drink, and cultural pop-ups. Taunton train station with connections across the UK, including direct links to London, Bristol, and Exeter, is minutes away.
Somerset Sounds is co-promoted and delivered by Somerset County Cricket Club and Full Fat 360. The latter’s national portfolio includes the SMK Live festival series at Milton Keynes’ 30,000-capacity Stadium MK, and headline shows including Kings of Leon, and the multi-act BS3 Festival at Bristol’s Ashton Gate.
The first major headliners and line-up announcements for the 2027 premiere of Somerset Sounds are going to be revealed soon, as is the exact date in August 2027. More information and priority ticket registration available at somersetsounds.co.uk.

Cricket will always be at the heart of who we are, but we have a much wider ambition for the venue and for the role it can play within Somerset.
“We want to create experiences that bring new audiences to Taunton from across the South West and beyond, while generating meaningful economic and cultural benefits for the County. We have a proud history of hosting some of the world’s biggest artists here, and Somerset Sounds gives us the opportunity to build on that heritage and create something distinctive, ambitious and enduring.
