The Chicks Announce 20th Anniversary Tour for "Taking the Long Way"

The Chicks have announced a 20th anniversary tour celebrating what turned out to be their farewell album as the Dixie Chicks, Taking the Long Way.

Taking the Long Way, which included the defiant “Not Ready to Make Nice,” was recorded following the backlash to comments singer Natalie Maines had made denouncing the Bush administration and the Iraq War. The group would not return to the studio for another 14 years until their 2020 comeback, Gaslighter.

This new “Taking the Long Way 20th Anniversary Tour” spans 16 dates in 10 cities. It kicks off September 30th in Detroit, MI, and wraps November 1st and 2nd with a two-night stand in Hollywood, CA, with other stops including Chicago, New York, Nashville, Seattle, and San Francisco, plus three dates across their home state of Texas.

Tickets go on presale for registered fans beginning Wednesday, June 3rd at 10 a.m. local time. To participate, sign up at signup.livenation.com/thechicks by Sunday, May 31st at 11:59 p.m. PT. Additional pre-sales will run throughout the week.
