WRITE OUT LOUD, the viral musical theatre organization now in its eighth year, has announced a panel of industry judges supporting this year's annual songwriting contest!

Haley Bennet (&Juliet), Goldie Golden (SIX, Titanique), Alvin Hough Jr. (The Lion King, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical), Tom Kitt (Next To Normal, Almost Famous), Joriah Kwamé (Little Miss Perfect, Lyle Lyle Crocodile), Adam Laird , (&Juliet, Oh, Mary!), Jaime Lozano (El Otro Oz, Jaime Lozano and the Familia), Madeline Myers (Double Helix), and Ian Weinberger (CHESS, Hamilton).

Following a comprehensive review period this spring, winning songs will be announced in early summer and professionally recorded by a Broadway alum. The resulting EP will be released on all major music platforms later this year. Additionally, ten finalists will be selected to have their work showcased alongside the 2026 winners in a live concert at 54 Below on Monday, September 14, 2026. The evening will be produced by Sarah Glugatch, Hannah Kloepfer , and Josh Collopy with Benjamin Rauhala (Disney Princess – The Concert) and hosted by Taylor Louderman .

The Write Out Loud contest is an annual celebration of new musical theater writers sponsored by the Write Out Loud Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
