May 27, 2026 By Mandy Dalugdug

TuneCore has named Basile Beaugendre as Regional Head of TuneCore , Europe, and Cyrus Chen as Regional Head of TuneCore , APAC.

The appointments, announced on Wednesday (May 27), expand the international leadership team at the Believe -owned distribution platform for self-releasing artists.

In their new roles, Beaugendre and Chen will be responsible for driving strategic operations, leading “international Head of TuneCore teams,” as well as overseeing DSP relationships and artist development initiatives across their respective regions.

Both appointments were announced by Brian Miller , TuneCore’s Chief Business Officer, who was appointed to the role in April , and to whom Beaugendre and Chen will report.

Miller said: “In the last year, more than 75% of new releases through TuneCore have come from outside of the United States, and Basile and Cyrus have each been invaluable in helping independent artists looking to develop long-term careers through TuneCore.”

Beaugendre has served as Head of TuneCore , France, since 2019.

In that role, he helped transform TuneCore France into the company’s second-largest business unit worldwide, according to the company.

He also developed technical tools to facilitate the transition of top-performing TuneCore artists to Believe , and restructured the region’s approach to artist and brand marketing.

> “As Europe is a cornerstone of the industry, I’m thrilled to now amplify this mission on a European scale, and am ready to ensure TuneCore remains at the forefront of its creative evolution.” Basile Beaugendre, Tunecore

As Regional Head of TuneCore , Europe, Beaugendre will oversee teams spanning France , Germany , the UK , Italy , the Netherlands , Scandinavia and Eastern Europe .

Beaugendre said: “I have always believed in a music industry that prioritizes the artist, and I’ve dedicated my career to making that a reality.

“As Europe is a cornerstone of the industry, I’m thrilled to now amplify this mission on a European scale, and am ready to ensure TuneCore remains at the forefront of its creative evolution.”

Chen has served as Head of TuneCore , Southeast Asia, since 2020.

In that role, he launched community hubs throughout the region, bringing TuneCore ‘s support to emerging music markets in non-capital cities that, according to the company, the broader industry had overlooked.

He also pioneered localized payment rollouts in Indonesia , the Philippines , and Vietnam , and has grown the number of active TuneCore artists in the region by more than four times in the past three years, according to the company.

As Regional Head of TuneCore , APAC, Chen will oversee local teams in India , Indonesia , Vietnam , the Philippines , Singapore , Malaysia , Laos , and Thailand , while also driving expansion into new APAC territories outside of Southeast Asia.

> “The opportunity ahead is immense, and I’m deeply motivated to lead TuneCore’s efforts in ensuring that independent artists across the region have the tools, support, and platform to be part of that growth.” Cyrus Chen, Tunecore

Chen said: “We’ve forecasted internally that Asia will become the world’s largest music market by 2030 .

“The opportunity ahead is immense, and I’m deeply motivated to lead TuneCore’s efforts in ensuring that independent artists across the region have the tools, support, and platform to be part of that growth.”

The new appointments arrive amid a period of leadership transition at TuneCore.

Former CEO Andreea Gleeson exited her role in January , moving to a Strategic Advisor position at parent company Believe .

Miller was subsequently promoted from Chief Revenue Officer to Chief Business Officer in April to oversee all of TuneCore ‘s global business.

At a group level, Believe,  which was taken private last year by a consortium led by founder Denis Ladegaillerie , backed by EQT and TCV,  has been investing in its international footprint.

Earlier this month, the company launched its Label & Artist Solutions business in the United States .

In April, Believe and TuneCore unveiled a significant update to their Generative AI policy , automatically blocking the distribution of AI-generated tracks produced on unlicensed platforms.

TuneCore – which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year – reported in November that self-releasing artists have earned more than $5 billion via its platform since its founding in 2006.

That milestone represented a payout of approximately $1 billion in the 17 months prior, or roughly $59 million per month.

TuneCore distributes music to more than 150 streaming and download platforms worldwide and operates across five continents. Music Business Worldwide
