Stranger Than Heaven is an action-adventure game that spans fifty years. “A saga of men with nowhere to go and their desperate struggle to find a home. Use extreme violence to survive, and musical talent to thrive as a showman across five cities and eras of modern Japan,” explains the game’s description.

Earlier this year it was confirmed that Snoop Dogg would star in Stranger Than Heaven as  Orpheus. Other musicians Tori Kelly (Kelly Day), Ado (Keiko Shirai) and Satoshi Fujihara (Takashi) are also involved in the Like A Dragon prequel.

On Friday evening (June 5), Snoop Dogg took to the stage of Summer Game Fest to confirm Tupac’s involvement in Stranger Than Heaven as Amaru, which was the late rapper’s middle name.  “The Tupac estate and my son and myself, we work very closely together,” Snoop explained. “So it just made sense to put him in this game, because his likeness and his spirit still lives on. I just felt like it was so connected to what we’re doing.”

A statement from the game’s publishers Sega confirmed that Tupac’s inclusion in Stranger Than Heaven was “made possible with the permission and ongoing supervision of his estate, Amaru Entertainment.”

“RGG Studio is treating this integration with the utmost respect for his legacy, crafting every aspect in close collaboration and without the use of AI, including his character design based on archival footage and photographs,” they added. More details about Tupac’s involvement in the game will be shared at a later date. Stranger Than Heaven launches January 15, 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

In other news, Epic Games has confirmed that  The Simpsons  will be returning to  Fortnite  this summer after a celebrated 2025 crossover.
