BMG has acquired the publishing interests of German music producer Luca Anzilotti , co-founder of the Eurodance group Snap!
The deal hands BMG ownership of Anzilotti ‘s publishing interests in the Snap! catalog.
BMG announced the acquisition on Wednesday ( June 3 ). Financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition advances BMG ‘s long-term strategy to consolidate the Snap! catalog.
BMG acquired the recorded music catalog of Snap! in 2018.
BMG has said those recordings have “gone on to become a significant sync earner.”
In August 2023 , it acquired the writer’s share of royalties belonging to Snap! co-founder Michael Münzing .
Anzilotti ‘s publishing interests are the latest part of the catalog to move to BMG .

Anzilotti co-founded Snap! in 1989 with Michael Münzing in Frankfurt .
Their breakthrough came with the 1990 single The Power , which combined elements of hip-hop and dance.
The group’s debut album, World Power ( 1990 ), reached No. 1 in several countries and earned Gold and Platinum certifications across Europe, according to BMG .
The group’s 1992 single Rhythm Is a Dancer topped charts in the UK, Germany, France, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands, and peaked at No. 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
The track was certified Platinum in Germany and the UK .
Snap! ‘s other hits include Ooops Up ( 1990 ) and Welcome to Tomorrow ( 1994 ).
Snap! ‘s hits had accumulated more than 1.4 billion streams as of 2023 , according to BMG at the time. On Spotify , Snap! has over 7.5 million monthly listeners .
BMG has described Snap! as “a cultural touchstone for the Nineties.”
The acquisition extends BMG ‘s push into Eurodance, after it acquired the music interests of Haddaway in 2022 .
It also follows a run of catalog deals for BMG , which acquired the publishing and recording catalog of UK new wave band A Flock of Seagulls in March.
BMG , founded in 2008 and wholly owned by Bertelsmann , represents more than 3 million songs and recordings, and operates 18 offices across 13 markets.
Anzilotti was advised in the transaction by Karsten Dropmann of Kiso Siefert Dropmann , who also advised Münzing on his 2023 deal with BMG . Music Business Worldwide
