Ms. Lauryn Hill Announces Rare Acoustic East Coast Tour This July

Ms. Lauryn Hill has announced a handful of new acoustic shows, set for July across the East Coast. The hip-hop/R&B pioneer shared the news of her upcoming performances on Twitter on June 18th, writing, “This July, we’re sharing the music in a more intimate way. Join us for a week of acoustic performances featuring familiar songs and some seldomly played favorites, and the opportunity to experience the music in a way that feels more close and personal.” The performances also serve as a throwback to the intimate, stripped-down presentation of Hill’s 2002 live album, MTV Unplugged No. 2.0 .

The short tour kicks off on July 19th at Pier Six Pavilion in Baltimore, Maryland, followed by a show at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Connecticut on July 21st. Ms. Lauryn Hill is set to co-headline Newport Folk Festival in Newport, Rhode Island on July 24th, before closing out the burst of shows with a set at The Clubhouse in East Hampton, New York on July 25th. Tickets for the headlining dates are now on sale now .

The shows arrive after Ms. Lauryn Hill joined Kanye West onstage at SoFi Stadium in early April, for a rendition of West’s hit “All Falls Down.” Two months before that, Hill performed at the 2026 Grammy Awards during the “In Memoriam” section of the ceremony. She performed her collab with the late D’Angelo, “Nothing Even Matters,” before being joined by a cast of R&B stars, including John Legend, Leon Thomas, Jon Batiste, Lucky Daye, and Bilal. The performance culminated in a “Killing Me Softly” duet with Wyclef Jean, both a walk down memory lane and an homage to Roberta Flack.

Hill is notorious for delayed start times (plural) at her concerts. Last July, the artist responded to those who accuse her of disrespecting audiences’ time, patience, and investment. “There seems to be a misconception out there though that I am somewhere on the Riviera with my feet up, drink in hand, showing up to concerts whenever because I’m too important to care,” she wrote in a social media statement after performing nearly two hours behind schedule at Essence Festival 2025. “That’s nonsense… and anyone who’s been a part of these productions knows that IN FACT the opposite is true.”

Hill will be honored as the first recipient of BET’s Living Legend Icon Award at this year’s BET Awards, on June 28th.
