Drake is returning with not one, not two, but three new albums: Iceman , Habibti , and Maid of Honour . All three projects will drop at midnight tonight.

The Toronto rapper previewed several songs and visuals from the projects via YouTube livestream called “Iceman Episode 4” (watch below).

The release of Drake’s trio of new albums follows a turbulent stretch that including a high-profile feud with Kendrick Lamar and a number of lawsuits.

Lamar released tracks dissing Drake from March to May of 2024, culminating in “Not Like Us,” which saw the Compton lyricist dolling out some harsh burns against his rival. The song went on to top charts and year-end lists, including the No. 1 spot in Consequence’s 200 Best Songs of 2024 , and take center stage at the most watched concert all year, the Super Bowl, which Lamar performed in 2025.

Meanwhile, Drake’s diss tracks from the 2024 tête-à-tête were dismissed as inferior or largely forgotten, and he took to the courtroom to continue the feud, a move seen by followers of the rivalry as an admission of defeat and cowardly.

Drake’s 2025 lawsuit against the label he is signed to, Universal Music Group, claiming the label pushed Lamar’s defamatory song was dismissed by the court , but not before UMG had said in a legal filing that Drake had “lost a rap battle that he provoked” and sued “in a misguided attempt to salve his wounds.”

Drake remained legally besieged throughout 2025 and into 2026. Two class action lawsuits alleged Drake’s appearance in advertisements aided in an online gambling scheme to take people’s money through addictive casino-like gaming. One of those cases made racketeering claims against Drake , saying he funneled money from the online gambling platform to increase his streams.

Another class action alleged Spotify ignored widespread fraudulent streaming activity on its platform and focused on Drake, making allegations that he benefitted from billions of fake streams by bots which took money from other musicians.

It was also revealed that Drake had lost more than $8 million in bets in one month , a story that was seen as reinforcing his loser status.

Despite the bad optics and legal issues, Drake released music that found success in 2025. His collaborative album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U , released in February 2025, reached the top of Billboard’s album charts. In July 2025, he unveiled the single “What Did I Miss” from Iceman . He also released singles “Which One,” “Somebody Loves Me Pt. 2,” and “Dog House” in 2025, and was named the host of Toronto’s 2026 World Cup Matches.
