Gilla Band Unveil First New Music in Four Years, Announce Fall North American Tour

Gilla Band (fka Girl Band) are back with a new single and a tour announcement. Self-produced, “Giraffe” is their first new music in nearly four years and finds them still in noisy, abrasive form, with little hints of dance music hiding amongst the feedback haze and shouted vocals.

Frontman Dara Kiely says the song is a look into his thought process. “It can be a very scattered and sometimes lonely place. Feeling unloved and finding it difficult to articulate what I’m actually thinking. The song’s outro indirectly details a kind of confirmation that affection toward me does exist. While I appreciate it, I still find that hard to believe.”

You can watch the video below, and “Giraffe” is also available as a limited edition picture disc 7″ single.

Meanwhile, Gilla Band have announced an extensive fall tour that hits Brooklyn’s Elsewhere Hall on October 15 . Tickets for all shows go on sale Friday, May 29 at 10 AM local time. All dates are below.
