The New York indie giants have been teasing a new record for a while now, which will be their eighth studio album and the highly anticipated follow-up to 2022’s ‘ The Other Side of Make-Believe ’.

Already, they have dropped two tasters of new material – the captivating track ‘ See Out Loud ’ which has made it into all of their recent shows since March, and the charismatic ‘ Wings Of Fire ’.

The latter was played live for the first time at Coachella 2026 , and has nods to their second album ‘ Antics ’ and 2007’s ‘ Our Love To Admire ’.

Now, frontman Paul Banks and co. have confirmed that they have signed to Partisan, and will be releasing more music via that label.

“We are truly excited to be partnering with such a stellar label. Partisan’s track record, roster, and overall ethos fills us with total confidence. We feel in ideal company on every level,” the singer wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of the band and a poster of their upcoming shows.

Other artists signed to Partisan include fellow indie icons Geese , IDLES , Cameron Winter , PJ Harvey , Laura Marling , Blondshell and Lip Critic .

It is still unknown when exactly Interpol will drop their new album, but the indie icons have already been teasing what fans can expect, telling NME  in 2024 that the record as a whole will be “quite high energy”.

“[It’s] pretty great, to be honest with you. I’m pretty pumped about the stuff that we have worked on so far,” Banks said.

“That’s all I can really say: it’s an enthusiastic ‘yes’. It’s pretty cool. With this record, we’re getting back to writing together in a room and my favourite tracks so far are quite high energy.”

Guitarist Daniel Kessler then caught up with us last summer and revealed that while album eight does have “some upbeat tracks”, it will also see them explore some “different moods”.

“[There are] also some different atmospherics that I don’t think we’ve had before,” he said. “It’s not all rock; some of it is more upbeat in a different kind of way to what people might think of Interpol. It’s been a really fun process.”

Drummer Urian Hackney (The Armed) is currently playing live with Interpol following Sam Fogarino – who has been part of the line-up in 2000 – taking a step back from touring after undergoing spinal surgery in 2023. Fogarino is, however, involved in the new album, both co-writing and performing all the drum tracks on it.

Later this month, Interpol will head to Australia and New Zealand to support Deftones , and over the next two months, the NYC band will come to the UK and Europe for more shows. These include a support slot with My Chemical Romance .

They’ll join up with Deftones again in August, supporting them at London’s All Points East x Outbreak . That line-up also includes IDLES , Amyl & The Sniffers , AFI , Esdeekid , JPEGMAFIA , Deafheaven and Mannequin Pussy .

Towards the end of 2026 they will kick off their co-headline tour with Bloc Party , playing across the UK and Europe. Those dates include two nights at the new British Airways ARC venue in London. Visit here for tickets to all upcoming dates.
