Jason Isbell Announces ShoalsFest 2026 Lineup, Featuring Drive-By Truckers

Jason Isbell has confirmed the lineup for the fifth edition of ShoalsFest, which features Isbell and the Drive-By Truckers performing their 2003 album, Decoration Day , in its entirety, as well as performances from Jeff Tweedy, S.G. Goodman, Willow Avalon & Steve Trash. Isbell will also take the stage for a set from Isbell and the 400 Unit.

The festival is set for Oct. 3-4 at McFarland Park in Florence, Alabama, and is brought to fans by Isbell, his manager Traci Thomas and Outback Presents.

The event takes its name from Muscle Shoals and the surrounding towns of Sheffield, Tuscumbia and Florence, which are collectively referred to as “The Shoals” and became widely known in the music world for the “Muscle Shoals Sound” thanks to the impact of FAME Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio.

As an announcement points out, some of the biggest artists in the world recorded at the studios and came away with some of their most seminal albums including The Staple Singers, Wilson Pickett, Percy Sledge, Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon, The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart and Bob Dylan.

The area is especially meaningful to Isbell because he “developed his guitar playing and his deep reverence for music history as a teenager working at FAME Studios and playing with local musicians and members of the studio’s revered house band, The Swampers.”

Proceeds from this year’s Shoalsfest support the local effort to bring Athens, Georgia-based nonprofit Nuçi’s Space to the Shoals. The nonprofit focuses on preventing suicide and ending the stigma of mental illness, with a focus on musicians. Nuçi’s Space offers programs and services in Health & Wellness, Musicians Services, and Youth Support.

Tickets for ShoalsFest will go on sale this Friday, May 8 at 10 am CT. Visit shoalsfest.net for more details.
