Lily Seabird announces new LP ‘Lightspheres on Their Way,’ shares “Election Day”

Burlington, VT singer-songwriter Lily Seabird (who we named among the 10 Artists Shaping the New Indie-Country Boom last year) has announced a new album. Lightspheres on Their Way is due out September 4 (physical media) and October 2 (digital) via Lame-O Records. She co-produced it with Garrett Linck, and says, “A lightsphere can be so many things. An actual light like a star, the sun, a UFO; headlights, a flashlight in the night; but also life, living things, people, relationships.” See the cover art and tracklist below.

The first single is the grungy, intense “Election Day.” “This song is about having to make a decision and both options are painful, confusing,” Seabird says. “I wrote this song on election day which works as a great metaphor for this in our current political climate but this song is not about voting. The chaos of painful decisions that are difficult and when it suddenly comes to a point where a decision does have to be made. Getting lost in the darkness, searching for the light.” Watch the video, directed by Asher Groh, below.
