Olivia Rodrigo Releases "Stupid Song" Music Video, Performs on Kimmel

Olivia Rodrigo has revealed her new album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love , and along with it, she’s released a new music video for “stupid song.” She also gave the song its live debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

While lead single “drop dead” found Rodrigo love drunk in London — and, more notably the Palace of Versailles — the video for “stupid song” sees Rodrigo back in New York City. Accompanied by a troupe of ballet dancers and a handful of cats, Rodrigo walks contemplatively down NYC streets, takes to the piano, and jams out in a bodega. It ends with a great image of Rodrigo in Central Park under what initially looks like rain, but is later revealed to be a lone sprinkler. Watch the video for “stupid song” below.

Rodrigo also stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to debut “stupid song,” reprising her appearance from the prior evening where she performed “the cure.” She ran the entirety of the song seated at the piano; though the song itself isn’t totally understated, her live rendition of the song was a bit more focused and raw. As usual, though, Rodrigo’s vocals were outstanding. Watch her performance of “stupid song” below.
