BAM has announced has announced the fall 2026 season of their Next Wave Festival and as part of it there are three performances of The Philip Glass Ensemble ‘s “ Einstein on the Beach–50th Anniversary Concert” on November 19, 20, and 21 . Note this is not a staging on the Philip Glass / Robert Wilson “Einstein on the Beach” opera, as BAM explains:

> Some artworks change history, affecting everything that comes after them. Some change us, altering the way we perceive the world. Einstein on the Beach does both. First staged at BAM in 1984 and revived in 1992 and 2012, this revolutionary work returns in a 50th Anniversary Concert presented by the artists who know it best—The Philip Glass Ensemble, led by longtime music director Michael Riesman—with a special artistic installation by Tony and Olivier Award-winning artist and designer Es Devlin inspired by Glass’s early writings about his mesmerizing music.

Tickets are on sale now.

As usual BAM’s Next Wave fall 2026 features a mix of theater, dance, music, and talks. Full info is at BAM’s website and the lineup is below.
