Primavera Sound Announces South American Return with The Strokes and Gorillaz

Primavera Sound, a major music festival from Barcelona, is officially back in South America this year with Gorillaz and The Strokes headlining events in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and São Paulo, Brazil.

The Buenos Aires edition of the Spanish festival takes place Nov. 28 and 29, and features FKA twigs, Lily Allen, Yung Lean, CMAT, Courtney Barnett, underscores, Danny L Harle, Nation of Language, Juana Molina, Santi Motorizado, Carla Delevingne, Smerz, Marilina Bertoldi and many more. The site of the festival will soon be announced.

FKA twigs, Lily Allen and Yung Lean will perform at Autódromo De Interlagos in São Paulo Dec. 5 and 6. While the major acts remain the same, there are some differences in the Brazilian lineup, such as the inclusion of ATARASHII GAKKO! and local artists like Duquesa, Gaby Amarantos and Zé Ibarra.

The presale for Primavera Sound in Argentina begins May 12 at noon local time for BBVA customers, and the general onsale begins as soon as presale passes sell out. VIP tickets will also be available.

Tickets for São Paulo will soon go on sale via Ingresse. Users registered on the ticketing platform will be the first to receive all the details about the onsale.

Primavera Sound is one of Europe’s biggest annual music festivals, and this year’s sold-out event is stacked with headliners like The Cure, Doja Cat, The xx, Addison Rae, Massive Attack, Skrillex and Gorillaz. The event originated in Barcelona 25 years ago and aims to celebrate the city’s culture by expanding into other territories. Primavera Sound has been held in Porto, Madrid and Los Angeles.

This year’s festivals mark the third time Primavera has been held in South America, the first being in 2022 and the second in 2023.
