Quicksand Channels Classic Hardcore on New Single "Cool Guy"

Quicksand have released “Cool Guy” as the latest single from their upcoming album Bring on the Psychics .

This is the third single off of Bring on the Psychics , following the dual-release of lead singles “Get To It” and “Regenerate.” Bring on the Psychics will be out July 17th via Equal Vision Records.

“Cool Guy” is a short, uncomplicated post-hardcore song driven by that great grinding bass Sergio Vega has crafted over his career plus those interesting atypical chord choices that have always made the guitar parts of Quicksand so exciting.

Quicksand are one of the secret evolutionary stepping stones of so much of the innovative hardcore and post-hardcore we see today, especially the stuff that’s shoegaze adjacent. Seeing them execute on what makes them so special is always a treat.

The band stated of the track, “’Cool Guy’ is like an OG HC diss track, like ‘Small Man, Big Mouth’ by Minor Threat or ‘Hypocrite’ by Negative Approach. Sometimes you just gotta get those negative emotions out.”
