“After years of coaching Little League, I’ve witnessed some truly epic meltdowns on the field, and it’s always the adults (I’d be lying if I said it was never me). I just knew those experiences had to become a show,” Renna said in a statement. “What makes it even more special is that it’s bringing me back together with the cast of The Sandlot , guys I’ve shared a unique bond and brotherhood with for more than 30 years. It feels like a story I was meant to tell, with exactly the right people to tell it with.”

Renna will produce Dugout Dads through his Hambino Media company. Sebastian Jones ( Friends ) and Dan Kopelman ( Malcolm in the Middle ) will write, with Victor Nelli Jr. serving as director. The series is currently set to be released later this year.
