Storefront Church Unveils New Album "Blue Movie" and Shares "Tendency for Violence"
Storefront Church (Lucas Frank) reveals his self-produced third album, "Blue Movie," set for release on September 18 via High Room. Frank notes a thematic connection to cinema across his works.

Storefront Church (Lucas Frank) has announced his third album, Blue Movie , which will be out September 18 via High Room. Frank wrote, produced, recorded the album himself.
“If there’s a through line with my records it’s that they all somehow relate to movies,” says Frank. “If my last record was extravagant and aspirational, this new one is cheap and seedy. Ink & Oil was made in earnest in studios with live strings and friends; Blue Movie was birthed alone in a windowless shed with fake instruments and synths; my worst impulses on display. It aspires towards cinema in the same way that The Tiki, LA’s last porn theatre, does.”
Backing up the seedy Hollywood vibe, song titles include “Sydney Sweeney,” “Heaven or Los Angeles,” and “Fatal Attraction.” The new single off the record is “Tendency For Violence” which should appeal to fans of Alex Cameron and Lawrence Rothman. Listen to that, plus “Still Lying” and “Witness Protection” from the album below.
