Taking to social media last night, the official Fortnite X account shared an image of a portal leading to The Simpsons’ hometown alongside the caption “Springfield Reloaded. Summer ‘26. Yeah, we’re thinking we’re back.”
Fortnite Reload is a “fast-paced” version of the hit battle royale game that sees 40 players compete in squads. “It’s all about carrying the squad to victory,” explains a description of the game mode. “Reboot as long as one teammate is still in the action! Loot up after rebooting to get back into fighting shape! Eliminate opponents to reboot teammates faster! Near the end of the match, reboots will stop. Lock in with your squad to secure the [win].”

Epic Games hasn’t confirmed when Springfield Reloaded will go live, or what this crossover will involve but fans are already stoked.
“Holy cow if that’s true, I’m gonna play a lot of Reload,” wrote one Reddit user. “That’s awesome. It’s one of my all time favorite maps,” added another. ”Hopefully this means another wave of Simpsons skins,” said a third.
Last year, Fortnite hosted a huge The Simpsons crossover that featured a dedicated Springfield map, Homer, Marge, Flanders, Blinky Fishstick, and Springfielder Peely skins as well as special The Simpsons shorts that included a brutal Fortnite -inspired couch gag . During the event, The Simpsons legend Hank Azari (who voices Chief Wiggum, Lenny Leonard and Comic Book Guy) went viral after sharing a video of him “reacting” to Moe The Bartender’s inclusion in the hit game.
The Simpsons x Fortnite crossover was a huge success with more than 2.7million users playing concurrently at the peak of the event.
“Over the course of four weeks, chaos builds, and Springfield becomes more and more corrupted by Homer’s careless use of the Zero Point shard. Players scoured the island to find Homer, Marge, Bart, and Flanders; fought Evil Homer, Witch Marge, and Krusty to pick up loot; and completed The Simpsons Quests to level up in the Springfield Battle Pass,” Disney wrote in a dedicated blog after the event ended. “This season is now over, but keep an eye out for more collaborations in the future.”
In other news, a remake of the beloved Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is set to launch next month, and it’ll feature a brand new take on hit sea shanty ‘Leave Her Johnny’ from musician Woodkid – check it out here .
