Saban Community Clinic will honor the life and legacy of Live Nation's Ryan McElrath at its 30th Annual Golf Classic on August 24. The tournament will be held at the Riviera Country Club in the Pacific Palisades to support the clinic's miss

Saban Community Clinic, an organization that provides quality care to underserved communities throughout Los Angeles, announced that it will have its 30 th Annual Golf Classic Aug. 24 at the Riviera Country Club in the Pacific Palisades. The milestone tournament will honor the memory and legacy of the late Ryan McElrath, a beloved live entertainment executive who served as senior vice president of Live Nation.
The event is spearheaded by Mitch Rose, co-head of music at Creative Artists Agency, and Omar Al-joulani, president of touring at Live Nation. The event will bring together music industry leaders to celebrate the career and life of McElrath while raising funds and awareness for Saban Community Clinic’s mental health initiatives.
McElrath was known for his relentless work ethic, humility and passion for live music. He followed in his father’s footsteps and began his music industry career working at Cellar Door Concerts in Milwaukee, which was later acquired by Live Nation.
He worked in Columbia, South Carolina, and booked venues such as The Ritz in Raleigh and Ziggy’s in Winston-Salem before moving to Washington, D.C., where he worked for Ted Mankin and oversaw shows at Constitution Hall and Nissan Pavilion (now named Jiffy Lube Live).
McElrath climbed up the ranks and became one of the promoter’s senior executives. He traveled across the globe and worked with artists such as Alanis Morissette, Drake, Green Day, Kendrick Lamar, Iron Maiden, Twenty One Pilots, Fleetwood Mac and many more. McElrath died in November 2024 after a courageous battle with mental health struggles.
“Ryan was an incredible colleague, a brilliant executive, and a deeply cherished friend to so many of us in the music community,” Rose and Al-joulani, who are serving as event co-chairs, said in a joint statement. “Losing him was a profound tragedy, but we are determined to turn our grief into a legacy of hope and healing. Partnering with Saban Community Clinic allows us to honor Ryan’s memory in the most meaningful way possible, by ensuring that anyone battling mental health struggles in our community has access to the compassionate, life-saving care they need.”
Saban Community Clinic has served L.A. communities for decades, operating five health centers and providing medical, dental and behavioral health care to more than 150,000 patients annually. The clinics predominantly serve low-income individuals and families.
This year’s milestone Golf Classic aims to raise funds to expand the clinic’s team of licensed therapists, psychologists and case managers, which will provide integrated behavioral healthcare, crisis intervention and stigma-free support systems to low-income and unhoused individuals.
