The Strokes Debut New Song "Falling Out of Love" Ahead of "Reality Awaits" Album

The Strokes have released a new song, “Falling Out of Love,” the second single from their upcoming album, Reality Awaits .

Produced by Rick Rubin, “Falling Out of Love” is slower-paced than the April single “Going Shopping ” and is anchored by a grooving bassline from Nikolai Fraiture. In the lyrics, they take a moving-on approach from a lost romance.

“Not a crime, not a lie/ Fallin’ out of love for the first time,” Julian Casablancas sings in Auto-Tune-drenched vocals. “Something’s flawed or by design/ But I’m fine for the first time.”

The new track comes after a busy April for The Strokes, when they headlined both weekends of Coachella. During the second weekend, The Strokes displayed a video while playing “Oblivius,” which criticized the actions of the United States in Gaza and Iran, while also displaying images of multiple world leaders allegedly targeted by the CIA.

During an appearance on SubwayTakes with Kareem Rahma , Casablancas named the “privilege of Zionists living in the United States” as one of his “most controversial takes.”

Reality Awaits is set for release on June 26th. In support, The Strokes will hit the road for a summer and fall tour beginning in mid-June. Tickets for all of their upcoming dates are available here .
