About the series
The Preakness Stakes is the second leg of the Triple Crown, run at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore roughly two weeks after the Kentucky Derby, over a slightly shorter distance.
The short gap after the Derby is what gives the race its significance: it is the first test of whether a Triple Crown bid survives, and the field often differs from the Derby field as a result.
As with the Derby, the day offers a wide range of ticket types, from general admission areas to reserved seating and hospitality.
What to check before you buy
- Run about two weeks after the Derby, over a shorter distance.
- Ticket types range from general admission to reserved and hospitality.
- Pimlico has been undergoing redevelopment; confirm the announced host each year.
