About the series

Roland-Garros is the clay-court major, and the surface shapes everything about it: longer rallies, longer matches, and a very different set of specialists from the grass and hard-court events.

Court Philippe-Chatrier is the main stadium, with Court Suzanne-Lenglen and Court Simonne-Mathieu carrying much of the rest of the schedule. Tickets are sold by court and by day, and the site's layout means an outer-court ticket in the first week can be one of the better ways to see a lot of tennis in a single visit.

Because clay-court matches can run long, a day session here is genuinely open-ended. Build slack into any travel plan built around a particular session.

What to check before you buy

  • Tickets are defined by court and day, not by match-up.
  • Clay-court matches routinely run long; sessions can overrun.
  • Outer-court access and main-stadium seats are priced and sold separately.
